Defense Acquisition University Expands
Engagement with Tomoye
Acquisition Community Connection expands number of seats to keep up with demand for community
Ottawa, ON - May 1, 2007 - Tomoye, the Community of Practice Company™ (COP) today announced that its customer, the U.S. Defense Acquisition University (DAU) has expanded its existing contract with Tomoye, adding licenses for 7,000 new seats of Tomoye Ecco. DAU has added seats for its Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) community to keep pace with the rapid enrolment of new members on a monthly basis.
The DAU provides mandatory, assignment specific, and continuing education courses for military and civilian personnel. ACC includes numerous communities on a variety of topics and focus areas designed to provide the DoD Acquisition, Technology and Logistics workforce and their partners with the tools they need to improve job performance anywhere, anytime.
"DAU ACC is an excellent example of what Communities of Practice can deliver to any organization," Eric Sauve, CEO and Co-founder, Tomoye. "Communities of Practice blend collaboration with Web 2.0 to deliver the power of collective intelligence to organizations. The end result is a stronger, more agile organization that has empowered employees and validated information on which to base decisions."
Tomoye Ecco offers much more than a portal solution or add-on to an existing system. Built for communities and based on actual community leader and member feedback, Tomoye Ecco enables organizations to improve productivity by providing knowledge workers with access to peer knowledge, peer conversations, and the experts they need to help them deal with complex, non-routine situations. Increasingly, learning in the enterprise is happening on an informal basis, and a Tomoye Community of Practice enables organizations to promote informal learning and training on a day-to-day basis while driving innovation.
